Pride and Prejudice

Hi there! Have y’all been enjoying this 95+ degree weather we’ve been having? Today I am doing a fangirl post. Y’all are probably about to see a new side of me 😀
I have mentioned Pride and Prejudice before as one of my favorites, but I have never told you how much I love this book. I love it so much, I totally fangirl over it. 🙂

Pride and Prejudice

Here is an unashamed book nerd (I really am… there is no denying it) confession. You ready for it? Since last June (2016), I have read Pride & Prejudice 6 times, listened to the audio book once, watched the old BBC movie once, and watched the newer, 2005 version 3 times (once with some of my family and twice when I was sick and needed something to watch. That was the movie that sounded good.). I’m actually quite proud of my accomplishment! 🙂 Oh, and I am considering reading it again… Because I definitely don’t have 1297547647 books on my TBR shelf and about 20 I just borrowed from the library today.

I absolutely LOVE this book (in case you haven’t caught that yet) and each time I re-read it, I find something I didn’t notice the time before. I fall even more in love with all my favorite characters each time, and I remind myself how much Miss Bingley annoys me. ;P

I love the wit of this book. There are so many laughable, memorable parts of this book. Dear Mrs. Austen, you were a brilliant writer. Sincerely, Emma.

The character though, they all were excellently developed. Yes, even the ones who get on your poor nerves (get my reference? DO YOU GET IT?? :)).

Favorite Characters:

Mr. Darcy. Just… yes… he is totally the best!

Elizabeth Bennet. She is just a character you have to like. 🙂

Mr. Bennet

Mr. Bingley.

Jane Bennet. I didn’t love her as much as some of the others, but she is just so sweet.

Mr. Collins. Yes, the strange, annoying clergyman.

Mrs. Bennet. She was sorta annoying too… at first I didn’t lover her,  but after I read it a few more times, I decided I did like her. 🙂

Mr. Wickam. I know, he’s not the best kind of man, and definitely not someone I would NOT want to marry (What was Lydia thinking?). For some strange reason, I still liked Wickam.

My Not-So-Favorite Characters

(more like the ones who totally got on my poor nerves)

Miss Bingley and Lady Cathrine annoyed the life out of me… Lydia was ridiculous and Kitty and Mary were just… ehhh.

Life Update

Hi there! I’m back with a new type of post for you. What my life has been like these past few weeks! Ok, be warned this is going to be a random post. My brain didn’t have enough energy to really organize all of this. So, yeah…

I helped out with our churches VBS all of last week. I was exhausted by Friday! My poor introverted self needed some recharging ;), but it was totally worth it! 🙂

Independence Day was Tuesday. We celebrated with some friends and family. We ate dinner, pained our fingernails red, white, and blue and played Frisbee. After that we walked to where we were going to watch fireworks. We arrived at our spot at around 7ish. In the two and a half hours we spent waiting for the firework show to start, we ate desert (homemade ice cream, strawberry cake and chocolate covered cherries and strawberries), ECDed and had a fun time talking and laughing. After the fireworks, we went back and did sparklers and played more Frisbee (in the dark :)). We didn’t get home until 11:45pm!

On Wednesday we went to an Atlanta Braves game with our cousins and pawpaw. Even though we lost 10-4, we had a fun time. We didn’t get home until 12:45am! That’s two extremely late nights in a row!! I was SO exhausted, I am just now starting to wake up at my normal time! 🙂

I have gotten a fair amount of reading done recently. Not as much the last few days (can you see why? ;)), but still.

Some things I have been loving recently are:

Sewing these adorable headbands and matching necklaces.

(note: I did not take this picture for this post… I think I took it and sent it to a friend. So, yes, that is our bathroom counter. :))

English Country Dancing

Flip flops

Reading

Hammocks

Sterling (my cat). He is just the most adorable, sweetest “baby”, kitty! (Even though he is not a kitten, he is almost two years old)

Here is a random photo dump! I took all these pictures of flowers around our yard.

Y’all can call me crazy, but I can’t wait to start back school. We are going to the best homeschool book sale we know of next week. We will try to find some curriculum we need for next year (they also always have great books).

I have alreay made myself a school schedule and am ready to start using it. It needs a little tweaking, but I like the general idea of it.

Well, that pretty much sums up what I have been up to these last few weeks! Sorry if this post was just way random… 🙂

Have a lovely weekend!
