Pride and Prejudice
Here is an unashamed book nerd (I really am… there is no denying it) confession. You ready for it? Since last June (2016), I have read Pride & Prejudice 6 times, listened to the audio book once, watched the old BBC movie once, and watched the newer, 2005 version 3 times (once with some of my family and twice when I was sick and needed something to watch. That was the movie that sounded good.). I’m actually quite proud of my accomplishment! 🙂 Oh, and I am considering reading it again…
Because I definitely don’t have 1297547647 books on my TBR shelf and about 20 I just borrowed from the library today.
I absolutely LOVE this book (in case you haven’t caught that yet) and each time I re-read it, I find something I didn’t notice the time before. I fall even more in love with all my favorite characters each time, and I remind myself how much Miss Bingley annoys me. ;P
I love the wit of this book. There are so many laughable, memorable parts of this book. Dear Mrs. Austen, you were a brilliant writer. Sincerely, Emma.
The character though, they all were excellently developed. Yes, even the ones who get on your poor nerves (get my reference? DO YOU GET IT?? :)).
Mr. Darcy. Just… yes… he is totally the best!
Elizabeth Bennet. She is just a character you have to like. 🙂
Jane Bennet. I didn’t love her as much as some of the others, but she is just so sweet.
Mr. Collins. Yes, the strange, annoying clergyman.
Mrs. Bennet. She was sorta annoying too… at first I didn’t lover her, but after I read it a few more times, I decided I did like her. 🙂
Mr. Wickam. I know, he’s not the best kind of man, and definitely not someone I would NOT want to marry (What was Lydia thinking?). For some strange reason, I still liked Wickam.
My Not-So-Favorite Characters
(more like the ones who totally got on my poor nerves)
Miss Bingley and Lady Cathrine annoyed the life out of me… Lydia was ridiculous and Kitty and Mary were just… ehhh.
